Greeting on the Occasion of the International Day of Youth

The International Day of Youth, August 12, is observed throughout the world, and the aim is to encourage young people to active participation in addressing of their problems and improvement of their position. In 1999, the United Nations established August 12 as the International Day of Youth, and from 2000 onwards, this day is celebrated throughout the world.

This year, the topic of the International Day of Youth is involvement of the youth in society, and all of the activities are conducted under the motto "Be seen, Be heard, Youth participation for development".

The Commission for Coordination of Youth Affairs of the Council of Ministers of BiH, on this occasion sends out a greeting to all young Bosnians and Herzegovinians in BiH and diasporas.

 
Information on Applications for Published Invitations

Pursuant to Article 8, of the Decision of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in June 2007, the Commission for Coordination of Youth Affairs of the Council of Ministers of BiH started the process for drafting of the Youth Policy document in BiH.

In reference to the established guidelines for drafting of this significant document for youth, two public invitations were published as follows:

1. Public invitation to youth organizations in BiH on the part of the Commission for cooperation on drafting of the Youth Policy document and for submission of proposed activities within it;

2. Public invitation on the part of the partner of the Commission, the German Technical Cooperation Association GTZ, for expression of interest to all interested companies or company consortiums to express their interest for provision of services involving development of the study “Analysis of the Situation of Youth and the Youth Sector in BiH”.

Participation proposal - "Analysis of the status of young people and youth sector in B&H"

Commission for coordination of youth issues of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina implies to young people and all subjects of relevance for youth issues that the process of the creation of Youth Policy Document has started. Partner organization GTZ published a participation proposal in daily mail on 12th July 2007, according to guidelines for creation of the document. Participation proposal refers to all companies interested in providing service for the creation of study „Analysis of the status of young people and youth sector in B-H“.

Analysis of the status of young people in B-H represents a first step in the creation of Youth Policy Document which will provide a basis for sequent realization of the creation of Youth Policy in B-H.

Participation proposal is open until 25th of July 2007.

You will find a cooperation proposal for the creation of Youth Policy Document to all interested youth organizations in B-H, which will be open until 31st of July 2007.

 
The Government of the Federation of B&H acquisited the initiative of the Commission

Commission for coordination of youth issues of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina consigns public congratulation to the Prime Minister and Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for acquisition of the initiative for inclusion of youth issues into the program activities of the Government and the Ministry of culture and sport of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

According to the government’s decision, the Ministry of culture and sport will be renamed into the Ministry of youth, culture and sport.

7th Melaka International Youth Dialogue

Miss Nadja Lutvikadic (President), Mr Dejan Eresic (Vice-president) and Miss Dijana Andric (Member) represented delegation of the Commission at the „Melaka International Youth Dialogue-Youth and tourism“ organized by the World Assembly of Youth (WAY) between 24th and 30th of June 2007.

The Commission for coordination of youth issues in Bosnia and Herzegovina represented its principles of work and aims at the conference. Representatives of the Commission came up with recommendations which will take part in the MIYD 2007 Declaration. Declaration will be used as a basis for lobbying in different institutions by the participants of the conference.
