7th Melaka International Youth Dialogue

Miss Nadja Lutvikadic (President), Mr Dejan Eresic (Vice-president) and Miss Dijana Andric (Member) represented delegation of the Commission at the „Melaka International Youth Dialogue-Youth and tourism“ organized by the World Assembly of Youth (WAY) between 24th and 30th of June 2007.

The Commission for coordination of youth issues in Bosnia and Herzegovina represented its principles of work and aims at the conference. Representatives of the Commission came up with recommendations which will take part in the MIYD 2007 Declaration. Declaration will be used as a basis for lobbying in different institutions by the participants of the conference.

Melaka International Youth Dialogue – MIYD

Melaka International Youth Dialogue”  is a yearly program organized by the World Assembly of Youth – WAY, which gathers young people and leaders from all around world and brings them together in order to discuss important and current youth issues.

WAY has been focused on certain youth issues like globalization, youth employment, youth and ICT, role of young people in decision-making processes, strengthening of youth councils, etc., since 2001.

Each conference is being concluded by drafting of Declaration which represents a guide for young people. Declarations consist of instructions regarding treatment of certain youth issues in different communities, countries and regions.

MIYD goals for 2007

- Identify possibilities of youth participation in the field of tourism

- Create a strategy which will enable young people to participate in the field  of tourism

- Develop a platform for exchange of experience and knowledge in the field of tourism

- Discuss role of governments, NGO sector and private sector in supporting youth participation in the field of tourism

- Establish cooperation and collaboration between participant organizations and individuals
